Lazy Sunday Morning

A few days ago it was my nineteenth birthday so naturally I was asked by my parents what I had wanted. I had been eyeing up Maison Martin Margiela's Replica scent collection for a while, relating to the different scents Flower Market, Funfair Evening, Beach Walk, and Lazy Sunday Morning.

Originally I had intended on getting Funfair Evening as I prefer sweeter scents as to musky ones; however when I got to Selfridge's they had none in stock; sad face. I had a good whiff and sniff of each perfume and felt that Lazy Sunday Morning was best for me. It has a fresh citrus like familiar smell which is perfect for the seasons as we are transition between winter to spring in a few months. The scent is also very cunning as it almost triggers memories and colours of past events but not quite clearly, but enough to enjoy it as it lasts.

I'm crazy about this collection and hope that I can soon also collect the Funfair Evening perfume too, and definitely recommend you check them out if your ever in Selfridge's, since they are the only place that stock them.

Twelve snaps.

Since for my foundation course we were set to photograph the twelve days leading up to christmas, I thought I would also share on this blog also what I got up to; in twelve vague snaps. As I'm doing a 'fashion' foundation it was probably expected of me to create more of a 'fashion' outcome in these pictures, but I hate to be bombarded with fashion as a starting point all the time. I prefer my influences to come from everyday things like rain and art, without having to have a fashion like quality to a picture, but just simplicity on its own.

Art-filled rooms.

Culture shocks are the best. I love visiting galleries, theatres, concerts, anywhere inspiring and fun all in one visit. So myself, my sister and my cousin decided to head out to the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea and then for dinner after that. We left early in the morn' and travelled to vauxhall and decided to walk on from there towards the Saatchi across the embankment till we arrived' since it was a bright and sunny day with the typical English chilly weather, which is my favourite type of weather.

I've been visiting the Saatchi Gallery for a couple of years now, not missing a new exhibition since its hard to; it changes around twice a year. The Saatchi is an amazing gallery for new and under the radar artists from all around the world, unexpected mediums every time with odd twists, always inspiring. The current exhibition is called 'Body Language' which had artists portraying people in interesting and quirky personal ways, from nude parent child paintings to ham sculptures, an overall interesting collection of art.

Once we got through every room at the Saatchi we headed out for a food hunt since we were starving marvin. We headed back to Piccadilly Circus and found Jamie Oliver's pop up diner, and since I spend practically every Sunday afternoon watching Jamie's 15 minute meals, I couldn't say no. The food there is sooo yummy, too bad its just a pop up restaurant. The décor is straight up american with a weird additional mixed theme of dinosaurs which was commissioned by artist Jay Burridge which I loved; the fact that they used a local British artist to create these graphic dinosaur pieces.

I had a great day with my sister and cousin, we always know how to enjoy our day trips, and have many more travels planned to come and can't wait to write about it on here.

I honestly can't recommend it enough to venture your own cities; I for one know that I take living in London for granted and am trying to explore it so much more. Also try and take a trip to the Saatchi Gallery, it'll be worth it.

Dress me internet.

The internet is my biggest inspiration when it comes to evolving my personal style. Especially with tumblr constantly throwing different fashion responses at me, it's hard not to have a strong sense of style. The way I would describe my current 'style' is a mix between casual t-shirt & jeans looks to smart coats with loose shirts. I am trying to evolve my wardrobe into a more smart over casual variation to keep it simple and relaxed, minimal colours, & black, love me some black. Here's a variation of looks from my tumblr which will be a moodboard of looks and influences I hope to incorporate into my own style/ or already are a classic look for me.
